WEEKLY UTILITY WORK UPDATE
Thank you for visiting this page.   There are a number of ongoing projects happening throughout the city. Many of the current improvements are critcal to our city's aging infrastructure,  and are a sign of progression.  The information on this site is to help residents and visitors carry out their normal activities and avoid traffic during the "high construction" season.

The following construction work will be occurring in Taunton for week ending Friday 08/14/15:
Sewer/Drain
Hart St – sewer lining work between Linden St and Hart Ave. NOTE THAT THIS WORK WILL CAUSE HART ST TO BE DETOURED BETWEEN COUNTY ST AND PLAIN ST.

Water
No work planned.

Gas
Kilton St – excavated gas main replacement
Broadway @ Dean Ave – excavated gas main replacement

Washington St at Mill River Bridge

Bridge Construction
No bridge closures are anticipated.

Please Be Advised - beginning next Friday, August 14 Dean Street (Rt 44) will be closed to thru traffic to replace the Dean Street Grade Crossing. This is a MassDOT project. Please plan ahead and avoid the area when possible.

At 6PM on Friday, August 14, Dean St. (Rte 44) will be closed to thru traffic from Longmeadow Road to Arlington St. (Local residents and Businesses will be allowed access beyond the road closure).  Roadwork is expected to be completed on August 17 at which time the road will re-open.  Signal work will continue after the road has been re-opened.

-       West bound thru traffic on Dean St (Rte 44) will be directed to turn left at Honorable Gordon M. Owen Riverway and turn right at County St (Rte 140) continue thru Summer St. (Rte 140) till they come upon Dean St. (Rte 44) where they can make a left or right turn to get to their destination.
-       East bound thru traffic on Dean St (Rte 44) will be directed to turn right at Summer St (Rte 140) continue thru County St (Rte 140) and turn left at Honorable Gordon M. Owen Riverway till they come upon Dean St (Rte 44) where they can make a right turn or continue straight.
-       Local residents of Arlington, Ashland, Elm, Prospect, Chestnut and Church streets looking to head eastbound on Dean St (Rte 44) will be required to follow the same east bound detour.
-       Residents of the same streets heading west bound will be required to follow the west bound detour.
