Water Division

TWTP Pictureshe Water Division started in 1876 taking water from Taunton River at the Harris Street Pumping Station.  In the 1890’s the City began drawing water from the Assawompset pond complex in Lakeville.   Fast forward over 100 years, the Water Division is capable of producing 14 million gallons per day with 274 miles of water pipe, five pump stations, five storage tanks and a treatment plant that services Taunton residents and neighboring communities including Lakeville, Norton, North Dighton, Middleboro, and Raynham.
