The Taunton Board of Health, in order to protect public health and safety, permit and inspect all businesses in Taunton that sell tobacco products by enforcing state and local regulations regarding workplace smoking and the sale and distribution of tobacco products.
Governor Baker Declares Public Health Emergency, Announces Temporary Ban on Sale of All Vape Products Statewide
Governor Baker declared a Public Health Emergency on September 24th, 2019 in response to confirmed and suspected cases of severe lung disease associated with the use of e-cigarettes and marijuana vaping products in the Commonwealth. The Governor called for a temporary four-month statewide ban on the sale of flavored and non-flavored vaping products in both retail stores and online.
Effective immediately, all retailers must remove from display and stop selling all vape products.
Tobacco Sales Application
Businesses in Taunton that wish to sell tobacco products or non-tobacco nicotine delivery devices (E-cigarettes) must first fill out a Tobacco Sales Application with the Board of Health.
If your business is currently selling tobacco products or non-tobacco nicotine delivery devices (E-cigarettes) in Taunton, you must renew your permit each year by filling out a Tobacco Sales Application (PDF).
- $300 per Year
- Non-Tobacco Nicotine Delivery Devices are an additional $300 per year (Temporary Statewide ban on these products)
Please pay by check or money order payable to the City of Taunton.
Along with the application and check, you must submit the business' State ID Number given by the Department of Revenue.
