Mental Health

Getting older brings with it an abundance of new physical, emotional and mental challenges. Later life can be a time of rest, relaxation and retirement, and a time to enjoy life with family and friends. Aging can also bring much anxiety, often because of issues of health and well being, but also because of significant social and emotional changes, such as the loss of loved ones, isolation after retirement, or boredom and loneliness. If you feel that you are feeling anxious, lonely, and/or having difficulty dealing with emotional challenges it is important that you first speak with your physician.

Access agencies that may also be able to assist you with loneliness or mental health concerns by viewing the Resources Directory or visit the Elder Outreach Program page for more information.
