Lights On 2023: What You Need to Know


Saturday December 2, 2023, 3pm-8pm


PARKING:

The roads into the the City Center will close at 2 pm.  Visitors can park at the following municipal lots:  Court Street, Leonard Street Parking Deck (behind Pacheco's Jewelry), Trescott Street, Galligan's Court (behind El Mariachi), the lot behind the Police Station and City Hall.   

SHUTTLE: 

GATRA will be offering a free shuttle service to and from the parking lot at Bristol Community College @Coyle Cassidy High School (2 Hamilton Street, Taunton) from 3:00 to 8:30 PM.  The Bus will drop riders off at Bristol County Savings Bank on Broadway.

BUTTONS:

Admission buttons (needed for some activities) are $5 for adults & teens and FREE for children 12 and under.  

Buttons are available for purchase during the Festival:

  • Santa's Village (on Taunton Green)
  • Tux Towne  (40 Main Street)
  • Bristol County Savings Bank (35 Broadway)
  • Pilgrim Church from 2:30pm-6:15pm (45 Broadway) 
  • City Hall ( 15 Summer Street)
  • Taunton Federal Credit Union (14 Church Green)

PUBLIC RESTROOMS:

Accessible restrooms are available at Winthrop Street Baptist Church, Old Colony History Museum, Taunton Public Library (until 4 pm), Taunton City Hall, Pilgrim Church, The Center On Main, and Trescott Street Gallery.  There will also be temporary restrooms at Knotty Walk, Court Street, Cedar Street and the Seeley Lot.

ATMS:

ATM's are located at Taunton Federal Credit Union (14 Church Green) and Bristol County Savings Bank (35 Broadway).

FOOD VENUES:

Downtown Taunton hosts a number of restaurants that will be open and offering food and beverages before, during, and after the Lights On Festival.  

  • Cabo Green Cafe (28 Broadway)
  • Devito's Pizzeria (4 Taunton Green)
  • El Mariachi (44 Taunton Green)
  • Fusion Kitchen (17 School Street)
  • Island Cafe & Bakery (91 Weir Street)
  • Maria's Place (67 Main Street)
  • Mimi's Diner (19 Taunton Green) 
  • National Charter 957 (9 Taunton Green)
  • Neighbors Coffee (32 Weir Street)
  • Pearl (76 Weir Street)
  • Tex Barry's (15 Main Street)
  • Torched Kitchen & Bar (15 School Street)
  • Ugly Duckling (47 Weir Street)

There will also be a number of food trucks at the Festival offering food for sale. The food trucks will be located in front of the Superior Court House, across from the Taunton Green.

FOOD TRUCKS & STANDS @ SUPERIOR COURT HOUSE:

  • Fat Cousins Pizza
  • King David's Lodge Fried Oreos
  • Noonan Concessions
  • Wholesome Sweets 

Opening Ceremony begins at 4:30pm on Taunton Green followed by Santa's arrival and Lights On at 5pm.
